The phrase deep work can sound like a scolding. Wake earlier. Block everything. Become the kind of person who never checks messages. But the best version of the idea is not harsh at all. It is kind. The goal is not to become unreachable. The goal is to give the learning task enough uninterrupted time to become interesting. Many hard things are most painful in the first few minutes, when the mind is still bargaining for escape. Stay a little longer and the shape appears. You notice the pattern in the grammar.
